Evidence of Status Extended for those pending Removal of Conditions

On September 3, 2021, USCIS announced that due to the great delays they are experiencing, they will be extending the current evidence of status for permanent residents pending I-751 or I-829 from 18 months to 24 months.

Normally conditional permanent residents receive a receipt notice that includes an 18-month extension from the expiration date indicated on the permanent resident card. However, they have decided to extend the period to 24 months instead.

USCIS also indicated that pending applicants will be receiving this new Receipt Notice that will serve as proof of permanent residency status for 24 months from expiration of the green card while their cases are still being adjudicated.
